I can never get enough of the Lovefest between the national level media and USC. It must be all tied back to their LA Roots somehow. Someone's agent must be someone else's agent etc etc on down the line because I LOVE articles like this (emphasis/ul mine):
Rose Bowl rout proves again USC, Carroll model of sustained excellence
and
It's unfortunate, USC's 38-24 beat-down Thursday of Penn State in the Rose Bowl.
Unfortunate, because that's it this season for USC.
We
won't have the chance to see how the Trojans would do against Oklahoma,
Florida, whoever, in a legitimate national championship game.
When did a 2 touchdown win become a "rout" and a "beat down" and unfair tidings toward the bestest coach in the world?
I am all for a playoff system, and I do think that USC was a better team that Penn St and it showed, but please spare me the lovefest. I have to think that everyone outside SoCal just laughs when they read this stuff.
I think SEC fans/alums should get together and build a USC satellite campus in Florida on the beach and give USC some mulah to ship the students/teachers and faculty over here for one season and make them an honorary inductee to the SEC for one season (maybe we can ship Ark or someone over to the west coast) and let them play in the SEC on an SEC schedule. See how well they fare.
